Memorial High School was formed in 1952
by combining the 3 schools located in the southern part of Lincoln County. Highland, Kings Mountain, & Waynesburg were combined as one and renamed Memorial High School in honor of the World War II Veterans.   In 1974 the  high school was closed and Kings Mountain Elementary was relocated to this building.  In 2006  Kings Mountain Elementary was closed and the building became the South Lincoln Memorial Community Center.
